Considering the rise in the number of fire incidents in Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has undertaken the decision to put up a mini fire station in Borivali (East) which is claimed to be one of the most densely populated spots, highlighted reports.

Senior officials from the BMC stated that there isn’t any local fire station on Borivali’s eastern side. Therefore, in the situation of any fire or related emergency, assistance would come from the Kandivali or Dahisar fire stations, mentioned accounts.

Assistant Municipal Commissioner from R/Central ward, Vaqar Javeed stated that the onus of building the fire station was accorded to the Building Construction department, mentioned a report by the Hindustan Times.

However, the local ward office then took charge of them for it. The land on which it is being built was reserved for the same. With no action undertaken for years, Javeed believes that the Building Construction would have taken additional time.

Therefore, Javeed remarked that the ward office took the responsibility. The buildings department has handed over the funds to fasten the process. On the other hand, officials from the fire brigade also believed that a dedicated fire station in the said vicinity was needed.
