The War Room which was initiated by the BMC to curtail the coronavirus crisis proved to be a great initiative. Taking precedence from the same, the war room is also set to be used to curtail another challenge heading the city’s way. With the onset of monsoons, rain-related sicknesses are on the rise. Thus, to help the citizens suffering from the same, the authority has urged them to contact the war rooms to report any sickness caused due to rains.
Taking the present climate into consideration, if there are any complaints of rain-related diseases such as fever, malaria, dengue, leptospirosis to name a few, the war rooms should be approached. Not only will the war room make note of it, but will also contact the said ward’s health department who will be instructed to undertake the necessary measures. The War Room which was initially curated to fight the coronavirus now has multi-purpose use.
According to the Municipal Health Department, till July 11, 1991 cases of malaria, 74 cases of leptospirosis, 57 cases of dengue, 1384 cases of gastroenteritis, 95 cases of hepatitis and 19 cases of HINI have been reported. Out of this, malaria and gastroenteritis have the highest incidence which the authorities are looking to curb.
