After the CSMT bridge collapse, the Railway administration has decided to carry out inspection for all the Foot overbridge (FOB) and Rail overbridge (ROB) in Mumbai. Earlier, a bridge at Dadar railway station was closed for repair work. 

Western Railway has now closed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) bridge for repair work at Malad railway station. The bridge is in a dilapidated condition and has been closed for the safety of passengers from March 29 to June 28.

Meanwhile, a new bridge at the station is open for public use. A total of four pedestrian bridges are being used by the passengers at Malad railway station.
