On April 14, Standup comedian Kunal Kamra had posted a series of tweets with a picture that read 'Don't vote for Modi'. One of those pictures included the iconic Bombay Stock Exchange's (BSE) Phiroze Jeejeebhoy Towers.
The official BSE India tweeted, " A fake morphed photo against a political party has been shared by Kunal Kamra. BSE is extremely disappointed at the unfortunate, unauthorized and illegal use of BSE building for nefarious activities. BSE reserves the right to take appropriate action against Kunal Kamra" to which Kamra replied, "Sensex of humour is down by many points. PS Do they have WiFi in jail?
Notably, Kamra also held a poster with the slogan 'Don't vote for Modi' in front of Mukesh Ambani's residence 'Antilla'.
BSE's Phiroze Jeejeebhoy Towers is registered under the Indian Trademarks Act of 1999 which states that artists or brands will have to seek permissions from the authorities before featuring the building.
