On May 20, 2020, an accident was reported on Mumbai's Elphinstone bridge and it is said that a car crashed the barricades, during the early hours of the day.
The images shared on social media show that a crack had developed, however, BMC control room confirmed with Mumbai Live that no such incident had occurred, except for the crash.
As per information received by Mumbai Live, from the Traffic Control Room, officers had reached the spot to investigate the matter and only found some broken parts of the car. No complaint was registered yet, and the investigation is being conducted. Officials also cleared the rubble and made way for the traffic to pass without hindrance. Mumbai Live also confirmed from the police officials who were present on the spot, that no crowd had gathered and people were asked to leave, bringing the situation under control.
