The Government of India and the respective state governments, since June 2020, relaxed several rules since the prevalence of coronavirus was under control. Decisions were taken and imposed once the cases reduced and after several months, the central government has now, once again announced new regulations.

Under the new set of guidelines, cinemas and swimming pools will be operational for the general public, but the same will have to be used carefully. The guidelines, issued by the Union Home Ministry, will be applicable in all the states and Union Territories in India.

Earlier, cinemas and swimming pools were allowed to open on a limited basis, however, the authorities will now be allowed to use the same with more capacity. However, along with the new rules, some of the other guidelines as directed earlier will have to be followed against the background of coronavirus infection, whereby the use of masks, sanitisers and adherence to the rules of social distancing will continue to be mandatory.

Cinema houses were allowed to operate at 50 per cent of the audience, but now, this has been increased. At the same time, state governments have been given the responsibility of allowing political and religious movements as well.

Social, religious, sports, entertainment, educational and cultural programs will be allowed as per the SOPs which will have to be issued by the states.

Many restrictions on travel in the country have also been removed in the new SOP. There will be no restrictions on carrying goods within the state as well as during interstate travel. No separate permission will be required for the same. Furthermore, the emphasis on using the Arogya Setu app continues.
