For the past several months, the residents living on the hills of Chembur area have been experiencing severe water scarcity and despite many complaints to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) department office, no solution has been found to the water issue. Due to this, the angry residents have warned to take out a handa march at the office of Water Engineers in Worli.


Bharat Nagar, Raigad Chal, Master Chal, Ganesh Chal, MG Chemical, Bhim Tola in the area of Municipal Corporation's M East Division Office in Chembur have been getting meagre water supply for the past several months. There are slums in this area and there is a large population on the hill. These residents have been getting water supply at very low pressure for the past several months. As a result, citizens have to go to the foothills to fetch water.

In this regard, the residents have complained many times to the concerned officials of the Municipal Corporation. But after filing a complaint, the officers only conduct an inspection. But nothing happens further. Even today, the problem of water remains. This has angered the residents. The residents of Chembur have asked that water is supplied 24 hours a day by the Municipal Corporation in various parts of Chembur, then why this part is being treated like a slave. Pramod Shinde, head of the Uddhav Thackeray group, has warned that if the water problem is not resolved in the next four days, a march will be held at the Jal Abhiyanta office in Worli.
