On Wednesday, state Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, not only vowed to provide proper funds but also cautioned that if the quality of road maintenance isn’t adequate and potholes appear again, action will be undertaken against the contractor as well as the officer who is in charge. However, there wasn’t any deadline given for the works to be completed. In addition to this, he asked that a master plan be curated for all road repair works, stated a report by the Times of India.

According to the account, in the Mantralaya, a war room will be curated where authorities and departments will liaison with one another and examine the road repair activities.

A review meeting was held on Wednesday by Thackeray at Varsha, of all the national as well state highways in Maharashtra. Those in attendance included Ajit Pawar, deputy chief minister, Ashok Chavan, public works minister, Eknath Shinde, urban development minister, Subhash Desai, industries minister, Sitaram Kunte, chief secretary, along with other officials and senior bureaucrats, highlighted narratives. It was also mentioned that the roads were in a suboptimal condition because of the heavy rains.

Officials were asked to finish the dragged-out work on the Mumbai-Goa highway, in addition to prompting towards quality check whilst potholes repairs will be undertaken on the highway of Mumbai-Nashik. The Chief Minister instructed the officials to make use of technology to fix potholes.

Pawar added that 50% of the money allocated for road works will be given by the end of October. Daily examination of the progress of works has been instructed to do so for chief engineers. Ashok Chavan cited the rising number of floods to suggesting that the height of bridges be increased. He mentioned that those contractors who do a commendable job be deemed for forthcoming activities.
