On Wednesday, the Maharashtra CID presented a report to the Justice Chandiwal Commission stating that it had undertaken inexorable steps to trace Param Bir Singh the former police commissioner to issue him a bailable warrant, however, he couldn’t be traced, stated a report by the Times of India.

Whilst the case has been adjourned to October 18 to record evidence, this was the commission’s third try to give a bailable warrant to the former police commissioner.

According to accounts, Justice K U Chandiwal is probing the letter written by Singh to Uddhav Thackeray claiming that Anil Deshmukh the former home minister had given the police an objective of mobilising Rs 100cr for him.

The account states that based on the report by the CID, police personnel went to the last known location of Singh. The report elucidates that the personnel questioned the doctor from whom he had attained treatment and went to places he was supposedly residing. The report is claimed to have mentioned that the team took considerable attempts but couldn’t trace Singh and thus a bailable warrant couldn’t be given.

Deshmukh and his private secretary’s lawyer requested the commission to give a non-bailable warrant and attached his properties. Their applications have been put in suspension.
