Goregaon- 17 solid waste management workers of the civic P/south ward are on strike for their pending dues.
However, they have been assured by civic officials that they will get their three months' salary in the next two months."We will take action against authorities concerned," said Ajit Naik, solid waste management department official.
These 17 workers were working with an organisation led by Godavari Dubey which did not pay them their salaries for three months. The workers then decided to meet BMC official G O Makwana and complained about the same. When no action was taken, the workers resorted to a strike to focus attention on their problems.
