Kurla- Cleanup Marshals are supposed to fine the guilty who litter the streets and give them an officia receipt for the same. However, it seems that they have been not doing their job sincerely. Mumbai Live carried out a sting on such cleanup marshals, who impose fines on people for littering but don’t give them proper receipts.
The marshals have also been using their powers to bully offenders into thinking they will be taken to the police station if the fines are not paid. Most offenders, we found, paid up out of fright.
