On the Central Railway line, the road towards the bridge built on Curry Road, Byculla and Arthur Road is in a dilapidated condition. Taking this into consideration, the IIT Bombay team has recommended immediate closure of these three bridges.

After the collapse of the Gokhale bridge at Andheri railway station of Western Railway on July 3, 2018, the appointed committee of IIT experts handed over its interim report to the Central Railway.

In this report, it was recommended to stop heavy traffic at Byculla, Curry Road, Arthur Road and Ghatkopar footpaths which connect to the FOB. With these three bridges being unsafe for travellers, it has been instructed that vehicles should drive at a maximum speed of 30kmph.
