A very intriguing situation came to light when the Board of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Mandai in Crawford Market was informed about Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ arrival on Friday, they had completely cleaned the mandai with the help of BMC officials. Little did they know that the CM had planned to clean the area and as he arrived, the area was clean and nothing was left to be cleaned.

To fix the situation, the officials then dumped garbage on the spot and CM Devendra Fadnavis along with Guardian Minister Subhash Desai , cleaned it with a broom and took a couple of pictures.

What's the campaign about?

Under the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ campaign of the Central Government, BMC has started a campaign called 'Swachhta hi Seva' service from September 15 to October 2. Under this campaign, the cleanliness drive will be run for 17 days in the whole city. On this occasion, CM said that this cleanliness campaign has been started by BMC to make Mumbai the cleanest in the state. CM appealed to all citizens of the city to participate in this cleanliness campaign.
