The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday, May 14, 2021, suspended the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination drive across Mumbai for three days on May 15, 16 and 17, 2021. Keeping the cyclone warnings in mind, post which Government-run vaccination centres were closed on May 17, 2021.
However, BMC took to Twitter on Monday, May 17, 2021, to inform that the process will resume from Tuesday, May 18, 2021. The message shared by the officials read, "Vaccination to resume at selected centres on 18 & 19 May’21 The list of CVCs for tomorrow shall be uploaded later tonight. Walk-in for 60+ taking their 1st dose of Covishield while 84 days to be completed after 1st dose of Covishield’s second."

The drive was cancelled earlier due to weather-related warnings issued by IMD regarding Cyclone Tauktae. But cyclone said that the same has moved to the coast of Gujarat.
Sharing more information, BMC officials stated that the vaccination will not be conducted at those centres which have been affected by the cyclone. However, doses will be given at a few centres based on the list released by the department. Furthermore, the same will be conducted for the next two days.
As of now, citizens over 60 years of age will be administered the first dose of the Covishield vaccine. Also, there are only 100 doses per centre. Here is the list of centres that will be administering the jab today.
