Mumbai's recovery rate climbs to 71 per cent

The total number of coronavirus cases in Mumbai stands at 1,02,423 with more than 70 thousand patients being recovered and 965 patients being discharged in the last 24 hours.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Mumbai on Monday stands at 1,02,423. More than 70,000  patients have made full recovery to this deadly virus. With this the recovery rate of the Mumbai district is has pushed up a notch higher and now stands at 71 per cent. The recovery rate for the maximum city has been rising gradually, which is being considered a good sign. The doubling rate in the city has been improving too and currently stands at 57 days. 

965 patients have been discharged in the last 24 hours. According to data shared by the Birhanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 41 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. Out of these, 36 patients had co-morbidities, 27 patients were male & 14 were female. 3 deaths which were recorded were that of people below the age of 40 years, while 24 of them were above the age of 60 years and 14 were between the age of 40 to 60 years.

 The active containment zones in the city including slums and chawls are 667 and active sealed buildings are 6,173. The increase in the recovery rate is coming across as a relief to the people. The active number of cases in Mumbai are 23,865.

While India has surpassed the 1 million mark the total number of coronavirus cases in Maharashtra is more than 3.1 lakh with more than 70 thousand cases being recovered. Relaxations in lockdown have been given so that economic activities can resume. However, people are being advised to go out only in case of emergencies and even adhere to the social distancing norms and wear masks.
