Recovery rate in Mumbai now at 70 per cent

The total number of coronavirus cases in Mumbai reaches to 92,720 with 5,288 deaths and 62,872 cases being recovered. 1,263 new cases of coronavirus were recorded on Sunday.

Mumbai is one of the worst cities in India to be impacted by the coronavirus. Ever since the outbreak started in March, the number of cases have been on a constant rise. The total number of coronavirus cases in Mumbai reaches to 92,720 with 5,288 deaths and 62,872 cases being recovered. 1,263 new cases of coronavirus were recorded on Sunday.

According to Brihanmumbai municipal corporation (BMC)’s data, 44 deaths were recorded in the last 48 hours. 32 out of which had co-morbidities, 29 patients were male and 15 were female. 4 deaths were below the age of 40 years, 32 were about the age of 60 years and 8 were between the age of 40 to 60 years.

The recovery rate of Mumbai district has reached 70 per cent which is a positive sign, the doubling rate stands at 50 days. 34,64,028 houses were visited for the survey.

The current number of cases in the state of Maharashtra are 2,54,427 and 1,40,325 cases have been cured. The total number of active cases in the state are 1,03,516.

While the lockdown has been extended in the state till July 31, the authorities have constantly been urging people to follow the rules and not venture out unnecessarily as strict actions would be taken against those who fail to follow the rules. Relaxation in the testing norms for Mumbaikars is being helpful as getting themselves tested has become more convenient than it was earlier

More than 8.5 lakh cases have been recorded in India.
