Maharashtra registers 2,949 new COVID-19 cases; 60 deaths

2,949 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported taking the caseload up to 18,83,365 while 4,610 have made a complete recovery in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra reported 2,949 new COVID-19 cases, 4,610 recoveries and 60 deaths on Monday (December 14), taking the total number of cases in the state to 18,83,365. There are 72,383 active cases in the state and 17,61,615 patients have recovered so far. The death toll is at 48,269 in Maharashtra.

The states recovery rate is 93.54 per cent, while the mortality rate is 2.56 per cent. Currently, 4,335 people are institutional quarantine and 5,04,406 are home quarantine.

Mumbai reported 477 new COVID-19 cases, 533 recoveries and seven deaths on Monday (December 14), taking the total number of cases in the financial capital to 2,87,303. According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) data, there are 9,068 active cases and 2,66,695 patients have completely recovered so far. The death toll is at 10,988 in the city. The recovery rate stands at 93 per cent. At present 21,00,275 tests have been conducted by the BMC.

Meanwhile, India reported 22,065 new COVID-19 cases, 34,477 recoveries and 354 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally up to 99,06,165 according to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday (December 14). While in total 94,22636 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,43,709 in the country. At present, there are 3,39,820 active cases. According to the ICMR, 15,55,60,655 samples have been tested up to December 14.
