Mumbai: COVID-19 Cases Below The 400 Mark On September 21, 2021

According to the statistics released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), an aggregate of 352 patients tested positive for coronavirus in the Greater Mumbai area on Tuesday. The fatalities registered as well were considerably low with just one death due to the virus. This female patient had comorbidities and was above the age of 60. A total of 24907, tests were also conducted. Additionally, 363 patients recovered and were subsequently discharged.

With these developments, the overall growth rate of coronavirus cases in Mumbai from September 14 to 20, 2021 is 0.06%, taking the recovery rate of the city to 97%. This has also resulted in the doubling rate of Mumbai to be at 1177 days.

Continuing on a similar trend of the past few days, there are zero active containment zones in Mumbai. There are, however, 45 active sealed buildings in Mumbai. The high-risk contact tracing undertaken in the last 24 hours stands at 2,797. 

In recent developments, the BMC will procure 5,000 vials of the cocktail drug, if cases increase. Suresh Kakani the Additional Municipal Commissioner (Health) elaborated that since the number of patients is low they aren’t ordering the doses now, but if the numbers surge, they will be procured in a phased manner, mentioned accounts.
