Central Railway has started an online survey to know more about public opinion on AC local services on Mumbai Suburban network for passengers, commuter bodies, road travellers, divisional railway users consultative committee (DRUCC), zonal railway users consultative committee (ZRUCC) and railway officials.

This survey is to increase passengers and understand the opinion of the public on the air-conditioned (AC) local trains.

The official handle of Central Railway has posted a google form with several questions and has asked passengers to submit their feedback.

A list of questions has been put up which will form the basis of change in services. Tweeting a Google Form link, CR has asked passengers to fill and share their opinion. The questions are both in English and Marathi.

According to CR officials, the feedback received from the passengers will be submitted to the railway ministry and be studied, and decisions regarding the AC trains will then be taken.

Apart from basic questions about name, age, and gender, the survey has asked why do you need AC local trains, and in case AC services are provided, will you be willing to switch over from private vehicles/taxis.

The CR seeks to know if the passenger is a frequent traveller by rail or by road and in which class he/she travels. Passengers have an option to select their preferred travel routes. They can select more than one routes from Churchgate - Virar – Churchgate, Virar - Dahanu Road – Virar, Andheri - Virar – Andheri, Churchgate - Dahanu Road – Churchgate, CSMT- Karjat – CSMT, CSMT - Kasara – CSMT, CSMT - Kalyan – CSMT, CSMT - Thane – CSMT, CSMT - Panvel – CSMT, CSMT - Belapur – CSMT and Thane - Panvel - Thane (Trans Harbour).

It has also asked when AC services would be more convenient, and what percentage of extra fare over the First Class fare should be of AC Class.

Apart from some set questions and answers, the CR has also left an open space where commuters are given a chance to give suggestions in 50 words in the end.
