COVID-19 cases in Mumbai are increasing with every passing day, and with an aim to curb these rising cases, the municipal administration has imposed strict restrictions and increased vaccination. So far, the vaccination drive has got a good response in Mumbai as citizens have stepped forward to get the same.

However, on the other hand, social distancing rules are often violated during the vaccination. A similar incident was reported at the Covid Center in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), whereby, citizens gathered at the vaccination centre on Thursday, April 8, 2021, forming a huge crowd.

This behaviour led to issues at the centre and has increasingly worried for the administration, observing which, the state government has appealed to the people not to crowd at any area in Mumbai, and also to strictly follow the rules imposed for COVID-19.

However, officials state that the citizens are still not understanding the critical situation and have become carefree.

Meanwhile, reports also reveal that there is a shortage of vaccines in Mumbai, and currently, the administration has a stock of only 5,000 vaccines. It is said that this stock will be sufficient only for one day, and if the new set of vaccines do not arrive by Friday, April 9, 2021, the vaccination drive is likely to be affected for the next few days.

The BKC Covid Center in Mumbai is the largest jumbo COVID-19 centre and with an increasing number of cases, more than 1000 beds have been occupied with patients admitted for treatment. A few months back, approximately 200 beds were taken, but the rising number of patients has added to the existing worries.
