For the last 21 days, the Central Railway Mazdoor Sangh (CRMS) have been observing a fast in the form of protest against the Central Railway's decision to convert the heritage building into a terminus. Now, the very same workers have threatened to go on a hunger strike from April 3, 2018.

The CRMS workers started their strike from March 8, 2018, got enraged with no response from the CR officials. The CRMS workers are blaming the CR officials for keeping them clueless about their shifting. They also complained about the money railways will be spending on a budget of ₹41 crore for relocating the staffers, as they believe that this is a waste of money.

It has been 22 days and we have been on strike but we did not receive any response. The railways have no money for their basic amenities and they have to deal with the security issue as well. But, the CR officials want to spend on things which are of no use. If CR officials do not cancel their decision, we will go to court,” R P Bhatnagar, President, CRMS.
