Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Cybage Software Pvt. Ltd., through Saibage Foundation, has built a new, well-equipped waiting area for families visiting inmates at Pune’s historic Yerwada Central Jail.

The main goal of this project is to treat every person with dignity and provide proper facilities, especially for the families of those in prison. This waiting area aims to change the way society looks at prisoners and support their families by offering them comfort and respect. Whether it’s mothers with small children or elderly parents who travel long distances, all visitors will now have access to a clean, safe, and respectful space. This will help ease their emotional and physical stress.

Ritu Nathani, Board Member of Saibage Foundation and Director at Saibage Software, said, “This waiting area is not just made of bricks and cement—it’s built with empathy and care. Many families travel from far-off villages, often standing in heat, rain, and judgmental stares from society. Through this initiative, we want to tell them: we care, and you deserve respect. At Saibage Foundation, our efforts are always practical and impactful. This project reflects our mission—to fill gaps where help is most needed.”

The new waiting area includes seating for over 1,000 people, clean toilets, drinking water, a snacks counter, a breastfeeding room for mothers, a safe path to the interview rooms, a legal help desk, and a modern registration area. The entire project was developed and funded by Saibage Foundation through its CSR program, in close coordination with the prison authorities and local government bodies.

Sunil Dhamal, Superintendent of Yerwada Central Jail, said, “Many visitors carry silent emotional pain. This facility will greatly improve their experience. We thank Saibage Foundation for their thoughtful support.”

Yerwada Jail, rich in history and tradition, is now home to a project that shows how basic infrastructure can be shaped with compassion. This waiting area is a blend of emotion and action, and it’s expected to benefit over 3.5 lakh visitors every year.
