According to reports, two young women have received severe burns after a fire erupted due to a gas leak in Chembur, Mumbai.

The survivors have been identified as Soumya Singh (22) and Chandra Tara Singh (25). At the moment, both of them are undergoing treatment at Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar.

The incident took place near the Tansa pipeline in Chembur. While these two were at home, there was a sudden gas leak. Moreover, the fire broke out when the gas came in contact with an electric current.

The fire brigade was called down immediately to put out the blaze. According to sources, as a consequence of this unfortunate accident, Soumya received about 15 to 20 per cent of burns, while Chandra has received 40 to 50 per cent of burns.

The two have been rushed to the nearby Rajawadi Hospital for treatment. The incident was reported by the police and their condition is said to be stable as of now.
