Ongoing work at an infra project at Malad damaged the Mahanagar Gas pipeline, causing a gas leak and spreading panic among locals. A dark cloud of black smoke hung over the area for hours after the incident.
Till now, no injuries have been reported due to the gas leak. A fire brigade team and a team from Mahanagar Gas rushed to the spot to control the situation. Vehicles going from Malad to Kandivali were diverted for the time being to avoid any mishaps. This has led to a traffic jam in the area, say locals.
