For a long time there has been a demand to change the names of the areas to such names which are associated with a particular religion. The names of many localities and cities have also been changed. In such a situation, there is now a demand to change the name of Mumbai's Mumbra railway station to Mumbra Devi. BJP leader Mohit Kamboj has made this demand.

The demand to change the name of Mumbra railway station is now being raised. Mohit Kamboj gave this information through a social media post. After which the political agitation regarding Mumbra railway station intensified.
While addressing the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mohit has demanded to change the name of Mumbra railway station to Mumbra Devi.
Recently, the Maharashtra government stripped the title of a public garden that was named after 18th-century ruler Tipu Sultan in Malad. Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Rais Shaikh had opposed the decision.
