Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Deven Bharti has been appointed as special commissioner of Mumbai Police on Wednesday, a post which has been created for the first time by the state government.
Deven Bharti was appointed as the chief of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in 2019. He was the Joint Commissioner of Police Economic Offences Wing (Mumbai) and was promoted from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to Additional Director General (ADG). Previously, he also headed the Maharashtra ATS.
Deven Bharti was appointed as joint managing director of Maharashtra State Security Corporation during Maha Vikas Aghadi government. On December 13, Bharti was replaced by joint commissioner (traffic) Rajvardhan.
