There seems to be no respite for Mumbaikars from the increasing menace of traffic. To resolve this issue, the option of Double Decker Tunnel is being considered for Mumbai. With regards to this, a meeting was held at Varsha Bungalow in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed the senior officers and the technicians responsible for the integrated transport system to conduct meetings with regards to the Double Decker Tunnel for Mumbai and submit the proposal for the same.

Constructing the double decker tunnel with a multi-modal integrated transportation network tunnel was also discussed during the meeting.

Multideck tunnel is considered as the need of the hour for Mumbai and to study the same, Mumbai Municipal Commissioner I. S. Chahal, MMRDA Commissioner Srinivasan, and Mumbai Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Ashwini Bhide held a meeting with the technical team. The Chief Minister has directed the team to submit the report regarding the integrated transport system.
