These areas in Mumbai to witness water cut on December 9 and 10

For the last few days, the water supply in Mumbai has been continuously disrupted. Once again, Mumbaikars will have to face water cut issues for two days as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) would undertake the task of replacing the British-era Tansa aqueduct on December 9 and 10 with a length of about 4 km and a diameter of 1,800 mm.

Meanwhile, the old aqueduct which will replaced by a new aqueduct, would be larger in size i.e. 2400 mm in diameter.

Therefore, there will be no water supply on December 9 and 10 in some areas of S division of the municipality, while on the same two days, water supply in K East, H East, L and G North will be at low pressure.

On December 9, there will be no water supply for more than 24 hours in these areas of Bhandup: Duck Line, Rajaram Wadi, Shriram Pada, Khindipada, Tembhipada, Sonapur, Tulshetpada, Pratapnagar, Jamilnagar, Samarthnagar, Subhashnagar, Drakshabagh, Utkarshnagar, Rajdeepnagar, Lal Bahadur Shastri Road Nahur (West) and Bhandup (West) area, Jaybhimnagar, Bestnagar, Aarey Marg and adjoining areas, Filter Pada, Mango Filling, Rawate Compound, Ramnagar, Paspoli Village, Morarjinagar, Gavdevi Hill, Sarvodayanaga.

The officials also stated that the upgrade will also lead to low pressure between Andheri East and Bandra Kurla Complex, Kurla, Dadar and Dharavi. The civic body has appealed to citizens in these areas to store water the previous day and use it judiciously.

Some disruptions will also happen in areas like Bandra Terminal Supply Zone area from 10 am on December 9 to 10 am the next day. Also, Kurla North Premises, Bareilly Mosque, 90 feet road, Kurla-Andheri road, Jarimari, Ghatkopar Andheri link road, Savarkarnagar, Mahatma Phulenagar, Tanajinagar, Saki Vihar road, Marwa industrial road water supply will be low at Satya Nagar Pipeline for almost 24 hours.

Dharavi Main Road, Ganesh Mandir Road, A. K. G. Nagar, Dilip Kadam Marg, Kumbharwada, Sant Gorakumbhar Marg, Premnagar, Naiknagar, Jasmine Mill Marg, Matunga Labor Camp, 90 ft Road, M. G. Road, will also witness low pressure.

On December 9, from 10 am to next day 10 am, there will be low pressure water supply in these areas: Chakala, Prakash Wadi, Govind Wadi, Malpa Dongri no. 1 & 2, Hanuman Nagar, Mota Nagar, Shivaji Nagar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony (Part), Charat Singh Colony (Part), Mukund Hospital, Technical Complex, Lelewadi, Indira Nagar, Mapkhan Nagar, Takpada, Airport Road Premises, Chimatpada, Sagbagh, Marol Industrial Complex, Ramakrishna Mandir Marg, J. B. Nagar, Bagarkha Marg, Kranti Nagar, Kabir Nagar, Bamanwada, Parsiwada, Airport Complex, Tarun Bharat Colony, Islampura, Deulwadi, P&T Colony, Om Nagar, Kranti Nagar, Rajasthan Society, Sai Nagar (Technical Complex) Sahar Village, Vijay Nagar Marol area, Seepz and International Airport area.
