Mumbai Police as we know it works tirelessly, with barely any respite. In this regard, Police constable Ravindra Patil, who worked in Devnar police, had asked for a duty of 8 hours. As a matter of fact, he wrote a letter to the police commissioner for this.  And it was since then that the police commissioner started this tradition from Devnar police station itself from May 5, 2016.

The commissioner started off with this tradition with the clerical staff and later on included the Beat Marshal and then the officers. This trial that the commissioner started proved to be quite fruitful, thus leading to a great performance by the police officials.

Moreover, on the completion of one year, a small ceremony was organised at the Devnar police station. The event was graced by Police Commissioner Datta Padasaligakar who felicitated his whole team including Ravindra Patil.
