Suddenly, someone started shouting “short-circuit, run for your life, the bridge is falling down” and people started running helter-skelter. This caused the horrifying stampede which claimed lives of 22 innocent people and 38 got injured. However, Jamaluddin was lucky enough to survive the stampede. He daily commutes from Mankhurd to Parel and works in a garment shop in Parel.

I was on Parel bridge around 10:30 am and a lot of chaos was going on. People were shouting and were trying to go ahead. I was cluleless and I saw no way out. Suddenly, someone tore open a shade and pulled me. My friend was also there who got away with minor injuries”
