McDonald’s is all about burgers, french fries and many other lip-smacking food items where people of all age groups go to binge on fast food but recent reports raise a big question over the outlet at High Street Phoenix.

Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) officials carried out a surprise check at McDonald’s High Street Phoenix outlet, Lower Parel. While checking, FDA officials realised that officials concerned were not following the food norms and regulations. Along with this, they also breached the Food Safety Standards Act by not placing the license in an open area.

What is the act?

According to the Food Safety Standards Act, hoteliers should see to it that their cooking place and chefs should be clean and should cook in hygienic conditions. But this particular outlet seems to have been operating in unhygienic conditions and is not up to the mark.

We have sent a notice and have given 15 days to improve the conditions. And if they fail to do so, then we will take serious action against them. We will shut down the outlet as well if they fail match up to the standards."

Shailesh Adhav, FDA Co-Commissioner (Food)
