Fire breaks out at a godown in Mumbra

A fire incident was reported from Thane's Mumbra area, on Monday, October 19, 2020. As per reports, the fire broke out at a warehouse near Mumbai's Kausa petrol pump. Upon knowing the incident, fire engines rushed to the spot to control the situation, and no casualties have been reported so far.

It is said that the incident happened when plastic PVC fittings godown caught fire in Mumbra, on Monday. People near the spot informed the concerned teams, after which the Regional Disaster Management Cell, fire brigade vehicles and other rescue teams reached the spot to understand the matter.

Attempts were made by the fire brigade teams to extinguish the fire, and no casualties were reported initially.

Several incidents were reported earlier this month. on October 14, a fire broke out at a shop in Diwa area of Thane at midnight, and no casualties were reported then. Authorities said the entire shop was gutted in the blaze.

Besides this, the generator located outside Mulund's Apex Hospital also caught fire due to the heat. Reports stated that the generator was operated as the city witnessed a power outage on the day. People present outside the hospital noticed the fire and informed the officials, and critical patients were being shifted to other hospitals in the nearby areas. One patient passed away during the incident.
