A level-II fire broke out during the early hours on May 5, 2020, at Napean Sea Road's Atlas building. The fire was confined to the B-wing on the 6th floor (Flat No. 61) and the information was given to the officials at 4:41 AM.
The building is a G+10 structure and the fire broke out at a house with proper amenities which included electric wiring, electrical installation, wooden beds, bedding, wooden furniture, clothing, among many other items.
“Two women were trapped on the upper floors of the building and were rescued by the fire brigade safely. Cooling operation is still going on,” said CFO P Rahangdale.
Three fire engines, our jumbo tankers, one fire truck, one quick response vehicle, and other rescue teams reached the spot and the fire was doused at 8:40 AM, four hours after it was reported.
