A Fire broke out in Kaba Brush company of Jai Mata Di Compound in Kalheri village of Bhiwandi at 6:00 am. The reason for the fire is not yet ascertained and 3 Fire Brigade engines and 12 water tankers have been deployed in the area to get the fire in control.

No casualties have been reported but property worth lakhs of rupees has been damaged.

Notably, On April 20 at 7:00 am there was a fire in a chemical company located in Dombivli's MIDC. However, the cause of that fire is yet to be determined.

However, according to the Maharashtra Forest Department’s response to a Right To Information (RTI) query, the city witnessed 1110 forest fires which burned down 6,533 hectares over five years. The loss of forest resources has been quantified at ₹90 crore. This RTI query by Mumbai-based environment group Watchdog Foundation revealed data on forest fires across Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Kolhapur, Nashik and Aurangabad regions from 2015 to 2019.
