A major fire broke out on May 27, 2018, on the seventh floor of Techniplex Complex, an 11-storey commercial building, on SV Road in Goregaon (W). Three people died and eight people were left injured in the incident. The deceased were identified as Naimuddin Shah (25), Ramavtar (45) and Ram Tirathpal (45).

During the rescue operations, the fire brigade team found Shah’s body on the seventh floor and the other two bodies were found in the lift which was stuck between the fourth and fifth floors. Other fire officers suffered cuts and bruises and minor burns.

The fire broke out around 4:30 pm on the second floor which then escalated to the seventh floor. 12 fire engines reached the spot. The nearby residents sensed smoke coming out of the building who then immediately contacted the fire brigade team.

Meanwhile, five firemen who suffered breathlessness were shifted to Goregaon’s Siddartha Hospital. As per the doctor’s report, two firemen were brought in critical condition and have been admitted in the ICU. While rescuing people, the fireman also found an unidentified body on the seventh floor.
