A massive fire broke out at Thane-based Hiranandani estate, on Friday, October 2, 2020, and was confined to the six shops of the Arcadia Shopping Centre located at Ghodbunder in Thane. Rescue teams from Thane Fire department, Police and the Disaster Management Cell (DMC) reached the spot immediately to douse the fire. No casualties were reported.

As per reports, a total of two rescue vehicles, three fire engines and water tankers were sent to the location, to control the fire. Confirmed the same, Thane RDMC Chief, Santosh Kadam stated that the incident happened at 8:10 am and the respective teams were working to control the blaze. The cause of the fire is yet unknown, however, no injuries were reported.
Six shops - Gaurav Sweets, Prime Hardware, Wellness Forever Medical Shop, Citi Wines, Rainbow Shoppe, and Platinum Hardware - were damaged due to the fire.
