According to the latest reports, a fire broke out on Thursday, July 7, morning in a supermarket in Mumbai's Powai area. An official was quoted in accounts elaborating on how there were no reports of either casualties or injuries.
The official added that the blaze was witnessed on the main street of Hiranandani locality in the Haiko Supermarket in Powai at nearly 6.15 am.

Based on narratives, almost nine fire engines with water jetties and other machinery such as five jumbo tankers were sent to the location. The official articulated that efforts are underway to douse the fire.
It has been reported that it is a Level 2 fire wherein 12 fire tenders rushed to the location. Further, narratives suggest that when the fire broke out, the supermarket was closed. However, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

The fire dousing operations were underway amidst heavy rains that have been lashing the city over the last few days. Further waterlogging has also been reported across several vicinities in Mumbai.
