A privately owned floating restaurant sinks near Mumbai's Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
As per reports, the restaurant was called ARK deck bar and was owned by a privately held company, sank at 7:15 PM. A total of 15 people were saved from the boat, and no casualties have been reported yet. Officials have mentioned that the floatel started capsizing due to weather change at 2:15 PM, where the anchor moved and hit a rock and detached from the seabed.
Sharing more information about the incident, Vikram Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) said the license of the floatel was only until Friday evening after which the plan was to take this to 'bhaucha dhakka' for monsoon season. However, due to unexpected weather and conditions in the sea, the boat may have hit a rock and a hole may have been formed due to which water entered the boat.
Authorities at ARK Deck bar also tweeted about their monsoon break and said
Experience the colours of sunset, chilled beats & ocean waves make the perfect ending of our last evening.
