On Thursday, a four-year-old died and a man was injured after a cylinder exploded at a slum in Kurla.
The incident took place around 5:20 pm in the slum inside Bail Bazaar’s Kranti Nagar, near the airport land and the Mithi river, when a fire broke out. Two fire engines were sent to the spot and the blaze was doused immediately. However, it is not clear if the fire led to the blast or it was the other way round.

The victims were immediately taken to Rajawadi hospital. According to the medical officer, Anushka Chaurasia (4) was brought dead to the hospital and injured Ravi Parmar (21) is now stable.
