In the view of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations across the city, Mumbai police informed that it has deployed more than 40,000 police officers and personnel from September 2. 

The traffic department has also issued certain roadmaps and alternative routes while closing some roads for the festivities related to Ganesh Chaturthi. Mumbai Police PRO Pranay Ashok said that this is the biggest festival celebrated in Maharashtra and we have deployed 40,000 personnel in the city. 

Moreover, in order to avoid inconvenience to the general public, coordination with other agencies including Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), fire brigade, Public Works Department (PWD) and others have been worked out. Along with this, the Mumbai police has also coordinated with nearly 7,703 public Ganpati Mandals across the city.

The Mumbai police have also made security arrangements concerning the 129 emersion spots in the city. The police informed that they have around 1.62 lakh domestic mandals and over 11,000 Gauri Ganpati mandals.
