In a surprising development, on Monday, December 14, Google faced an outage for several users across India and some in other countries as most of its services and apps have gone down.
Google applications like Google Contacts, Docs, Drive, Gmail, YouTube, were malfunctioning prompting messages of error in India and more countries, including Europe and the US, as per reports. This happened most likely due to server issues, however, the company is yet to confirm the same. No details have been revealed by the tech giant regarding the reason behind this massive outage so far. However, all the services seem to be up and running as of now.
As per the Google dashboard, the problem appears to have started at 5.25 PM for Gmail. According to the dashboard page, “The affected users are able to access Gmail, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behaviour.” Rest of Google services appear to have been fully restored for users without any glitches, according to the dashboard. In view of the problem, the dashboard status stated, “We’re aware of a problem with Gmail affecting a majority of users. The affected users are unable to access Gmail.”
