Mumbai-based Hamid Nihal Ansari, an engineer by profession, was released from a Pakistani jail and was taken to Delhi after he returned to India. 33-year-old Ansari crossed the Wagah-Attari border and entered India while his neighbours celebrated in Versova. Ansari is expected to be back in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Ansari connected with a Pakistani woman online and fell in love with her. He, illegitimately, went to Pakistan without valid documents and was arrested in the year 2012. Earlier on December 12, 2015, Ansari was sentenced to imprisonment for three years by Pakistan military court for possessing a fake Pakistani identity card.
