It has been a crazy day in Mumbai so far as the rain gods have been blessing the city a little too much. In the last two days, it has been raining with breaks but Tuesday morning has seen more rainfall than the last 10 years or so.

With flooded roads to local railway coming to a halt, Mumbai is expected to receive heavy rainfall for the next four hours minimum.

Bandra-Worli Sea Link has been shut as there’s zero visibility and winds are gusting at 60 km/hour. weather officials believe could be the heaviest and longest bout of rain since July 26, 2005, when the city was devastated by floods.

According to the Meteorological Department, from Monday 8:30 am to Tuesday 8:30 am, 151 mm rainfall was recorded in Colaba and 88.4 mm in Santa Cruz. BMC is working towards pumping out the water.

Citizens are advised to stay off the streets and get to a safe location.
