Mumbai - A bench of Mumbai High Court has directed the Maharashtra Costal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) to prepare a plan for coastal management before March. The bench consisting of Justice V M Kanade and Justice Nutan Sardesai has issued orders in this connection. The plan was made for each and every coastal district in Maharashtra and it came to an end on December 31, 2015. The state administration extended the time limit of this plan as new plan has not been chalked as yet. Taking this into consideration, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) in February 2016 had directed the concerned authorities to prepare a final plan and had put construction plans along the coast on hold. The MCZMA had appealed in the High Court against this order of the NGT. The said directives of the High Court on Tuesday were given during the hearing on this appeal.
