In a mishap that occurred on the morning of Holi festival, March 18, it has come to light that three people were injured after a tempo and a car collided with each other on Hindmata bridge at Parel.

The injured were admitted to KEM Hospital. The car was completely smashed as the car and tempo hit each other on the bridge.

According to reports, this lead to a huge traffic jam on the bridge. At least 2 km of the bridge was clogged with traffic, following the incident, said officials.

The city traffic police officials immediately arrived at the spot of the incident and made an effort to clear the traffic.

Meanwhile, in another incident during Holi, driver, Sunil Kumar Rajput, fatally knocked an 8-year-old boy down when he was playing with a water gun on the road. He then hit three people who were out on a morning walk, leading to fractures on their hands.

According to the police official, the deceased boy has been identified as Gaffar Chowdhary. Local residents apprehended the cab driver and handed him over to the police.

Reports stated that Rajput was under the influence of liquor at the time of the incident and driving without a valid licence. He was arrested and his car seized, the official added.
