As this year ends, it brings another transfer for a well-known officer serving in the Indian administration - IAS Tukaram Mundhe within 35 days of his last posting. Mundhe was transferred on Thursday by General Administration Department which is led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Earlier in February this year, the firebrand IAS officer was appointed as Nashik Municipal Corporation Commissioner. However, his charge as the Commissioner was suddenly revoked on November 22 after there was pressure by the ruling party’s elected representatives. Mundhe gained a lot of public support due to his work in Nashik.

Later, the 2005-batch IAS officer was appointed as Planning Department’s Joint Secretary. However, after Maharashtra Planning Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar expressed his reluctance, Mundhe’s appointment was cancelled. In the last 13 years of his service, Mundhe has been transferred dozens of time.
