The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Satara, Amravati and Thane tomorrow, July. Additionally, a red alert has been forecast for Palghar, Nashik and Pune.

Moreover, owing to continuous heavy rainfall across the state, several districts have also announced shut of schools, colleges and establishment. Only essential services have been allowed in the wake of IMD's warning.

  • Pune district administration issued a prohibitory order under Section 144 in all tourist places in the district. The administration has prohibited entry within a radius of 1 km to these spots from July 14 to July 17. Action will be taken against those violating the orders.
  • Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) asks all the schools in the city to remain closed in view of the IMD's warning of heavy rainfall tomorrow, July 14.
  • Palghar All schools and colleges in Palghar district to remain closed tomorrow, July 14.
  • Due to heavy rains and flood situation, all schools, colleges and private establishments/offices will remain closed in Gadchiroli district till July 16. All essential services will continue.
  • A boulder crashed on a bypass road between Panvel and Thane in Maharashtra.
  • Two people of a family lost their lives while two others of the same family were rescued following a landslide in Vasai area of Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Wednesday morning.
  • As many as 200 families were shifted to safer locations in central Maharashtra's Nanded district on Wednesday as the level of the Painganga river was rising owing to incessant rains. Road links to 26 villages in the district have been cut off due to floods.
  • At least six people were swept away following heavy rains in Nashik district of Maharashtra over the last 24 hours and the body of one of them was found so far.
  • Nearly 300 families in a village in Maharashtra's Hingoli district have been unable to cook their meals since last four days after flood destroyed their food grains and other belongings.
