Dr. Indurani Jakhar, the first woman Commissioner of Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC), took charge of the post of Commissioner. On this occasion, Jakhar said that along with fulfilling everyone's expectations, she will try to empower women self-help groups. Information is being sought on how to plan ahead and outline the work. In future, efforts will be made to do good work by taking everyone along.
MP Shrikant Shinde expressed hope that the newly elected Commissioner will do good work and will speed up the development works. Talking about this, Commissioner Jakhar said that she will try her best to live up to everyone's expectations and will try to empower women self-help groups.
This development came after KDMC Commissioner Dr. Bhausaheb Dangde was transferred recently. Dangde has been given the post of Managing Director of the state government Petrochemicals Corporation.
After the transfer of Vijay Suryavanshi, Dangde assumed the position of Municipal Commissioneron July 13, 2022. Serving in this capacity for 1 year and 3 months, his unexpected transfer before the completion of his tenure has raised eyebrows.
Dr. Indurani Jakhar is a 2016 batch IAS officer and the current Managing Director of Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal. Jakhar is working in the Women Development Department of the state government.
