Dr. Indurani Jakhar, the first woman Commissioner of Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC), took charge of the post of Commissioner. On this occasion, Jakhar said that along with fulfilling everyone's expectations, she will try to empower women self-help groups. MP Shrikant Shinde expressed hope that the newly elected Commissioner will do good work and will speed up the development works. Talking about this, Commissioner Jakhar said that she will try her best to live up to everyone's expectations and will try to empower women self-help groups.

Dr. Indurani Jakhar is a 2016 batch IAS officer and the current Managing Director of Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal. Jakhar is working in the Women Development Department of the state government.
