The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has recently crossed the 30,000-mark. The COVID-19 tally in the corporation now stands at 30,182, with 621 fatalities.

On August 24, the area recorded 194 patients testing positive for the coronavirus whereas, on August 25, it recorded 101 cases.

On the other hand, Maharashtra, on Tuesday, August 25, witnessed 10,425 people testing positive for the coronavirus taking the total COVID-19 tally to 7,03,823 cases.

The number of patients recovering from the coronavirus also rose by 12,300 in the same period, taking the aggregate of recovered cases to 5,14,790. The recovery rate in Maharashtra now stands at 73.14 per cent, close to the national average of 75.92 per cent.

Mumbai in the meantime recorded 587 cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the aggregate to 1,37,683. However, BMC has admitted that these low numbers are due to a technical glitch in their reporting system. According to the state health bulletin, the city of Mumbai has 17,938 active cases while 7,477 patients have succumbed to the disease.

However, on the brighter side of the news spectrum, for over a month now, Mumbai has reported less than 2,000 cases a day while the number of tests has remained fairly progressive which is a sign of the disease plateauing in the city.

Meanwhile, the total number of cases in neighbouring Thane district touched 1,24,261, of which it has 18,921 active cases. The tally of active cases in Palghar stands at 6,514 whereas Nagpur has witnessed 9,059 cases. Pune district meanwhile has 1,55,039 cases of the coronavirus of which there are 42,177 active cases.
