In a tragic fire incident which took place at Kamala Mill’s '1 Above' pub had many survivors who had given up hope but they were lucky enough to survive.  

One such was Pallavi Zakiya and her husband Hemang Zakiya who had gone to '1 Above' club with their friends. In total there were 12 people out of which two died. They had come from the USA and were meeting after a long time.

Hemang got slightly injured but his wife Pallavi got 40 per cent burns. The next morning, a plastic surgery was done on her hands and legs while her husband got discharged. She is being treated at Bhatia Hospital.

Zakiya’s aunt Zarna Agicha said that they were shocked to see their favourite pub burning up in flames. She added that Hemang informed her that there was chaos and it all happened suddenly because of which people did not get a chance to run. Many went to the bathroom but were not able to see anything due to the thick smog.Though it was suffocating, they stayed in the bathroom.

The fire broke out around 12:30 am at 1 Above in Kamala Mills which was then spread to Mojo's Bistro and other nearby restaurants/bars. In total, 14 people lost their lives and 55 got injured.
